Viviana Aguirre, substitute congresswoman of La Libertad Avanza (LLA) and former official of PAMI in La Plata, revealed details about alleged irregularities in the health insurance for retirees. Aguirre stated that she was dismissed for refusing to cover up cases of corruption and accused the party's Buenos Aires coordinator, Sebastián Pareja, and his collaborator Juan Osaba, of being involved in this act.
According to Aguirre, once inside PAMI, along with other collaborators, they began to uncover alarming corruption. She mentioned misappropriation of funds at PAMI Central, agreements with medical providers, transportation companies, and nursing homes. She affirmed that Pareja and Osaba tried to coerce them into signing compromised documents, but when they refused, they were fired for not aligning with their interests.
The former official indicated that she has evidence of this corruption, which she presented in a judicial complaint after her dismissal. Aguirre also mentioned that she received threats after refusing to participate in illegal activities. According to her testimony, she was offered an executive position in exchange for a financial sum, but she refused, resulting in retaliations and her subsequent dismissal.
Aguirre reported that, upon joining politics with LLA, she believed in a change led by Javier Milei. She invested a considerable amount in the campaign and held important positions in La Plata. However, she became disillusioned when faced with corruption situations that went against her expectations of the party.
Regarding the candidacies in LLA, Aguirre claimed to be aware of alleged sales of nominations at high prices in dollars. According to her, such practices occur not only in PAMI but also in other state agencies like Anses, which she considered a constant looting of the population.
Amid the corruption accusations in PAMI, Aguirre faced pressures to withdraw her allegations, including settlement offers. Despite threats and reprisals, the former official remained steadfast in her accusations and her stance against corruption in the health system for retirees.
